A Rich History Becomes An Enduring Legacy
Introducing our latest landscape construction works at Tonsley Village.
On behalf of Peet Limited, we have transformed Tonsley Village into a thriving, green oasis that is respectful to the site's history and supports local biodiversity.
There's so much to celebrate about this project but the standout feature has to be the Charger play structure. Weighing 400 kilograms, this incredible piece of play equipment was built by VPG innovation and installed by our skilled landscape construction team. It pays tribute to the history of the site, the former home to Chrysler, which built the Charger car in the 1970's.

Greening Galore
We were delighted to bring an array of greenery to this site, including 4,609 square metres of premium instant turf, more than 670 trees and 11,000 shrubs and native plants, adding beauty and biodiversity. In total, there are 3,893 square metres of mulched garden beds.
To support long-term sustainability, we installed a water-efficient irrigation system, ensuring the space remains green and healthy, while conserving water.
With these works Tonsley Village has literally been brought to life with greenery everywhere to be seen. This adds to the visual appeal of the area as well as environmental benefits.
Trees and grass act as natural filters, absorbing pollutants like carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide, and releasing oxygen. Trees also provide shade, reducing surface and air temperatures, while grass helps cool the ground through evapotranspiration. We may not be thinking about this in the winter months that we are currently in but come the summer months in Adelaide, we will well and truly enjoy these benefits again!
Vegetation helps with stormwater management by absorbing rainfall, reducing runoff, and preventing erosion.
Trees store carbon in their wood, again, supporting environmental health.
And we can't forget our wildlife, including birds, insects, and small mammals, whose habitats and food sources are created by trees and grass.
Finally, soil also reaps the benefits of grasses, as they prevent soil erosion and improve soil structure.
Levelling the Field for Social Inclusion
As one of Bedford's social enterprises, we are an employment pathway for people with disability and other barriers to employment. Our work at Tonsley Village has created employment and on-the-job landscape construction training opportunities. Just like the spaces we have created here, GreenInc is a place where people can belong, connect, and thrive. The quality of the works at Tonsley Village demonstrates how inclusive employment and quality outcomes can go hand-in-hand.
Partnership with Impact
We are proud to continue the partnership with residential developer Peet Limited that APG first started. APG is Bedford's garden maintenance business that we grew from in 2023. To this day, APG are still doing a magnificent job of maintaining the Tonsley Village streetscapes and parks.
Of our landscape construction work at Tonsley Village, Peet had the following to say:
Partnering with GreenInc on Tonsley Village has allowed us to deliver more than just quality landscape construction, it has enable us to support meaningful employment opportunities and help build a space that reflects innovation, sustainability, and social impact. Their dedication to excellence and purpose-driven work aligns seamlessly with our vision for community development.
