We are celebrating an incredible achievement after winning two prestigious honours at this year’s Master Landscapers of SA Awards of Excellence: Regional SA Construction of the Year for the Flinders Chase Visitors Information Centre, and Commercial Construction $800k and Under for the Peach Basin project. These awards highlight the exceptional quality of GreenInc’s landscape construction work and the strong social and environmental purpose that sits at the heart of our organisation. As a social enterprise, we are committed to providing meaningful employment opportunities for people of all abilities, and these wins reflect the combined effort, skill and pride of our entire team.
A Celebration of Industry Excellence
The Master Landscapers of SA Awards of Excellence represent the highest level of recognition in South Australia’s landscaping industry. Each year, the awards bring together apprentices, tradespeople, contractors, small businesses and large operators to celebrate excellence in landscape design, construction and maintenance. This has grown into a major event that showcases outstanding craftsmanship, innovation and professionalism across the sector. Categories continue to expand and evolve in response to industry trends and new technologies, making the awards a true reflection of the best work being delivered across the state.
Winning two awards in such a competitive field is a significant milestone. It reflects the dedication of our crews on site, the planning and coordination provided by our support teams, and the values that ground every GreenInc project. Every job we take on provides opportunities for people of all abilities to build skills, gain confidence and contribute to work they can be proud of, and these awards are a testament to the strength of that approach.
Commercial Construction $800k and Under Award: Paech Basin
The Paech Basin project was recognised with the Commercial Construction $800k and Under Award. This category focuses heavily on construction quality rather than design. The judges assess the professionalism of the application and the accuracy of the two-dimensional and three-dimensional project set-out. They look closely at material selection, the quality of gaps and joins, the precision of cuts, the placement of control joints, the effectiveness of drainage and the thoroughness of soil preparation.
Judging also considers how well plant species are selected and how the team manages any degree of difficulty presented by the project. Hardscape elements such as surfaces, steps, walls, timberwork and irrigation must be executed to a high standard while staying within the available budget. Softscape elements must also be well delivered through appropriate planting depth, plant health, suitable staking and correct mulching. The judges then assess the overall finish, technical skill, craftsmanship and the professionalism shown when managing site constraints. Peach Basin met all of these expectations and was recognised for its strong execution, careful detailing and high standard of workmanship.

Regional SA Construction of the Year: Flinders Chase National Park Visitor Centre
GreenInc also received the Regional SA Construction of the Year Award for the Flinders Chase National Park Visitor Centre landscape construction. This category celebrates exceptional landscape construction projects delivered outside metropolitan Adelaide. The judging criteria mirror those in the commercial category, with a focus on construction accuracy, documentation quality, material selection, drainage, soil preparation, planting quality and both hardscape and softscape execution.
Judges also evaluate finishing detail, craftsmanship, technical ability and the level of professionalism shown throughout the project. Flinders Chase Visitor Hub was recognised for the way the GreenInc team achieved a polished and functional result that enhances the visitor experience and supports the local community.
Regional projects often come with additional challenges related to site conditions or distance, and this one had the added dimension of being on the other side of Backstairs Passage from the mainland!
